Late February

WASHINGTON, NC -- If we enjoyed ice, we’d likely live somewhere else. Be that as it may, we have had a plenty during the year’s cruelest month -- February.

We catch hell here in the South about our winter weather foibles and our reluctance to drive on ice. I for one can find no advantage to that position. Yours is get to work and appear brave. Mine is stay home with a blanket, watch a good movie in front of the fireplace, have a gin and tonic or three.  Enjoy your victory at the office...

These are a few scenes from around Beaufort County. Tranters Creek blew out, as strong steady north westerly winds are wont to cause. We lose a lot of water in those events, but gain some interesting driftwood.

Ice hung around for a day or two and accumulated in some interesting places.

The Harvey Road was prettier than usual.
